I can't really comment on it as although I have had it for some time now, I have not yet read very much of it!! But from what I have read, it looks like a very informative book.

This book was written by a boy with Autism and he is arrested for stabbing his neighbours dog with a garden fork, as he was found standing over the dog when the police arrive, but it wasn't him. He found the dog like that, and so he goes on a quest to find out who really did it (this is a brief description of what I've been told the book is about)

Buy It Now

Home Educating Our Autistic Spectrum Children

A down-to-earth guide written by the people who know - the parents who home-educate children with Asperger Syndrome or Autism. I bought this book around the same time I bought the Playing, Laughing and Learning book. This book is a very good source of information and I have actually used a lot of things in this book on Taylor's Blog. I leant it out over 12 months since and unfortumetely it has not yet been returned to me. I know I have used it a lot as a reference book and some of it's contents in the Blog but I can't actually give a detailed description on it as I can't find one and because it's been so long since I read it, I can not actually remember a lot about it. I have that many different books, sometimes it's easy to get them mixed up as after a while they all tend to sound the same!! But as it's a book I have I would highly recommend it.

Buy It Now

Can't eat, Won't eat

Finding out that your child has autism is difficult enough but discovering that they won't eat 99 percent of all known food can make life seem impossible. It is crammed with brilliant tips and advise. I even used one of the tips myself with Taylor. It suggests replacing sand boxes with rice (and various other things) so I did, as Taylor used to do nothing but eat the sand or throw it at everyone and everywhere and it worked a treat. Once he learned the uncooked rice tasted horrible he gave up trying to eat it and started playing with it. I will warn you now though, anyone who takes that same advise on board and has wood flooring please BE CAREFUL as slipping on uncooked rice on wooden flooring can be like slipping on ice!! Been there and done that many times and even had a sprained ankle to prove it!!

Everyday Education: Visual support for children with autism

This practical book explains how visual supports can help children with autism - and how to make them.
